This is Part 8 of my 9th Annual "Going to the Dogs" Sale.

Part 1, which gives all the background on this benefit sale, is here:

Part 2 is here:

I listed some nice Bucks for sale here:

Some Nice Bucks (Benefitting the Pups) (Reductions!) ALL SOLD | BladeForums.com

Part 3 is here:

AFAustin's 9th Annual "Going to the Dogs" Sale (Part 3) (Reductions!) | BladeForums.com

I listed a couple of Spydercos here:

Spyderco Endura Saber & Chaparral LW (Benefitting the Pups) ALL SOLD | BladeForums.com

Part 4 is here:

Part 5 is here:

I listed a few more nice Bucks here:

Part 6 is here:

I also listed 2 groups of flashlights in Gadgets & Gear:

And Part 7 is here:

Please note that I’ve reduced prices on the remaining knives in Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, the second Bucks thread, Part 6, and Part 7, so please take a look at those!

Everything is the same as in Part 1, including that 100% of the proceeds will go to the pups, but I’m offering up a new bunch of knives here in Part 8.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
8/25/21 Update: It's a wrap! This sale is now officially over and the donations have been made. Part 9 has all the details here:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For convenience sake, let me repeat the ground rules:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Details:
Prices include shipping, USPS 1st Class, w/ tracking. PayPal only. I'll cover the PayPal fees, so please list it as a sale of goods, not a gift.
1st unconditional "I'll take it", followed up with prompt payment. My PM/Conversations box tends to fill up quickly, so please e-mail me for payment info. at: aforsythe4 [at] austin [dot] rr [dot] com
Once we have a deal, please post an "I’ll take it" in this sales thread, since that’s required for us both to leave feedback, which I think is important.
By buying these knives you are stating that you are at least 18 years of age, and otherwise in compliance with all applicable laws regarding them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

International Sales Policies:

I like the international character of BF and so I’m usually willing to jump through the extra hoops to do international sales. But as this sale has grown in size and become a good deal more work, I’ve got to place some limits. So, apologies, but it’s U.S.A. only for this sale.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now without further ado, let’s get to the new batch of knives.
And please remember to email me (at address listed above) rather than PM-ing me.
Thanks for helping the pups!
Andrew
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

These 6 knives are a very generous contribution from my friend and esteemed BF member in North Texas. He is very knife knowledgeable and I’m honored that he supports this sale. He has asked to remain anonymous.

1) Grohmann R340S Lockback in Rosewood. 4” closed. My generous donor recalls that he had carbon in mind when he bought this knife, although the current Grohmann website describes it as “high carbon stainless steel”. But the accompanying paperwork says that the high carbon content in their stainless knives can allow for some staining if liquids are left on them, which seemed to suggest carbon. So I emailed Grohmann for clarification and they replied that the R340S is indeed stainless and pointed me to a section of their website which says: Pocket & Lockblades: Other european steels somewhat comparable to AUS6 are used in the pocket and lock knives. Rockwell hardness 56-58 degrees is maintained throughout all of the Outdoor knives.

Beautiful rosewood covers and scored nickel silver bolsters. Saber ground blade with very nice jimping and swedge. Locks up solid with no play. Very comfortable in hand. My donor says he carried it once or twice, and under a loupe it looks like the edge may have been touched up. But it is in excellent, almost new condition. Gorgeous knife from the legendary Canadian company.

Includes box and paperwork. $65.00 SOLD

2) Case #06247PEN in Brown Jigged Bone.
3 7/8” closed. Carbon steel blades. Single spring. Year of manufacture is 1978 per my reading of this table: W.R. Case & Sons Pocket Knife Age Identification (allaboutpocketknives.com) Blades have rub marks. Also some rust spots, most notably on mark side of master clip blade. Very attractive vintage knife.

Please note:
The pull on both blades is very strong. My donor was able to open it without any damage to his nails but my fingers and nails aren’t as stout, and when I first received it I needed mechanical assistance. But after a couple of days of “spring stretching” (leaving the blades in half open position) I can now open the master clip (not yet on the pen). I suspect that more “stretching” time, and oiling and working it, will further loosen things up but I’ll leave that to the new owner.

No box. $49.00 SOLD

3) Case Copperhead #6249W SS in Blue Jigged Bone. 3 7/8” closed. Stainless blades. Wharncliffe master. Beautiful deep blue bone. Appears to be 2000 year of manufacture as per notation on box (not original) and this table: W.R. Case & Sons Pocket Knife Age Identification (allaboutpocketknives.com) Has been used and sharpened and has some blade scratching. Master wharnie has a soft pull (which might be improved with a vigorous cleaning and oiling). It’s not noticeable in use, but if you push sideways on the open blades there is a little horizontal (no vertical) movement/play.

Includes Case box (not original) & paperwork. $31.00 SOLD

Case & Sons Pocket Knife Age Identification (allaboutpocketknives.com) Has been used and sharpened and has rub marks and some blade scratching.

5) Queen Dan Burke Small Stockman #26 in Winterbottom Bone. 3 5/16” closed. Based on what I’ve seen on the web, I believe the blade steel is Sandvik 12C27 stainless. Beautiful bone, excellent fit & finish as you’d expect from a Dan Burke. Appears unused and unsharpened. Lovely knife.

Includes box. $110.00 SOLD
