This is Part 5 of my 7th Annual "Going to the Dogs" Sale.

Part 1, which gives all the background on this benefit sale, is here:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...edicated-to-boy-part-1.1667277/#post-19070227

Part 2 is here:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/afaustin’s-7th-annual-“going-to-the-dogs”-sale-part-2.1668803/

Part 3 is here:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...-the-dogs”-sale-part-3.1670176/#post-19100703

And Part 4 is here:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...o-the-dogs-sale-part-4.1671403/#post-19115578

Everything is the same as in Parts 1-4, including that 100% of the proceeds will go to the pups, but I’m offering up some new knives here in Part 4 (first 4 knives), along with some re-posted knives (with reduced prices!) from Part 1 & Part 2 (next 5 knives).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
7/20/19 Update:
There won't be a new Part this week---I'm taking the weekend off. :) My plan is to have a final Part (sale thread), starting next weekend, and after that close out this year's sale. So stay tuned!
7/27/19 Update: Part 6 of this sale is now open here:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/afaustin’s-7th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale-part-6.1675517/
8/10/19 Final Update: It's a wrap! Please see Part 7 (Donations Made!) here: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...-the-dogs-sale-part-7-donations-made.1678168/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For convenience sake, let me repeat the ground rules:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Details:
Prices include shipping, USPS 1st Class, w/ Delivery Confirmation. PayPal only. I'll cover the PayPal fees, so go ahead and list it as a sale of goods, not a gift.
1st unconditional "I'll take it", followed up with prompt payment. My PM/Conversations box fills up pretty quickly, so for payment info. or questions please e-mail me at: aforsythe4 (at) austin (dot) rr (dot) com
Once we have a deal, please post an "I’ll take it" in this sales thread, since that’s required for us both to leave feedback.
By buying these knives you are stating that you are at least 18 years of age, and otherwise in compliance with all applicable laws regarding them.
International Sales Policies:
I like the international character of BF and so I’m usually willing to jump through the extra hoops to do international sales. Unfortunately, I’m a little more pressed for time this year due to some medical issues at my house, so I’m going to have to make it U.S.A. only for this sale.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now without further ado, let’s get on to the fifth batch of knives!

Thanks for helping the pups!

Andrew

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My friend Phil (Phaint on BF) lives in Pennsylvania, and his wife and he own two beautiful rescue dogs. Phil has once again donated to my sale, and the next three nice knives are from him. Many thanks, Phil!
1) Queen Serpentine Jack in golden jigged bone. I confess I don’t know if Queen called this a serpentine jack, but since I don’t know the actual name, that’s what I’m calling it! 3 ½" closed. I’m guessing carbon steel based on a few small spots and age—Phil thinks this one dates from the 50s or 60s. There’s a wee bit of side-to-side play in the blades, although I hadn’t noticed it till I looked for it just now. Lined bolsters with a small dimple on the end. The bone is very attractive.
The keystone shield is more typical of a S&M, but here it is on a Queen.
No box. $50.00 SOLD
2) Queen “Queen City” Ltd. Ed. Two Blade Stockman in green jigged bone. I didn’t have to guess on this one because I found one just like it on the web (but in Buffalo Horn and priced at $149.95! Google: “Queen Cutlery Co. Queen City Two Blade Stockman Genuine Buffalo Horn Limited Edition 9590"). This is a big knife at 4 3/8" closed. 1095 carbon steel per the web description. “1 of 200" stamped on the spey and “Queen City” on the clip. Nice even factory edges, with a small nick (which should sharpen right out) on the main clip about 2 mm from tip. Nice swedges on the main, lined and fluted bolsters, and single spring. Pulls are strong, with the main a little stronger than the spey, but manageable.
No box. $65.00 SOLD
3) Boker Tree Brand Barlow in faux tortoise shell.
Solingen, Germany. 3 3/8" closed. Carbon steel blades. Engraved steel bolsters. Looks like it’s seen some use, with patina on blades, but in good shape. Handsome covers. Slimmer and lighter than most barlows—a very comfortable and pocketable size.
No box. $35.00 SOLD
4) A.G. Russell 2 Bladed Congress. 2007 per tang stamp. 3 3/4" closed. Gorgeous hardwood covers and scored and pinched bolsters with long oval shield. There is a tiny pin crack on pile side at center pin—you have to really look for it—and a modest gap on mark side between liner and spring (see pics).
I have tried to find out more about this knife on the web and have found very little. However, a knowledgeable dealer on the big auction site had one of these up a while back and described it as a Gent's Carver Pocket Knife A35CBW and further described it as rare.
This knife just exudes quality and if looking doesn’t convince you, picking it up will—it has great heft and feels terrific in hand. Appears unused and unsharpened. A beautiful and unusual offering from A.G. and my pics don’t do it justice.
Includes plastic presentation box (with a little wear in the bottom liner cloth). $65.00 SOLD
This next beautiful knife is part of a very generous donation from a good friend, BF member, and long time supporter of this sale. He is a first class “knife man” and a first class “dog man” who resides in the great state of Arizona and has asked to remain anonymous.
5) GEC #152118B&C Boys Knife in Gabon Ebony with Bail & Chain. Credit for the donation of this beauty goes not only to my unnamed friend but also to another great knife man with a kind heart, Gary Norton, who some of you in the knife world may’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. Thanks to them both.
Appears unused and unsharpened. Perfect medium pull with half stops. Beautiful Gabon ebony. A great example of this pattern.
Includes tube & wax paper. $88.00 $83.00 $79.00
SOLD in Part 6: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/afaustin’s-7th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale-part-6.1675517/
The next two knives are special in that they are part of a donation by a great guy and friend of mine in North Carolina who has been a faithful supporter of this sale. He’s a long time knife man and friend of the pups, and proud owner of a handsome rescue dog. He’s asked to remain anonymous, but as always he has my sincere thanks for his generosity.
6) Otter-Messer Small Anchor Knife with dark wood covers. Carbon steel blade. 3 ½" closed. Made in Solingen, Germany. Small gap at point of anchor where it’s inlayed into covers. Appears unused and unsharpened with nice factory grinds and edge. Pleasant medium pull and a handsome knife.
No box. $50.00 $45.00 $39.00 SOLD
8) Case Trapper #6254 in Kentucky Bluegrass Jigged Bone. Stainless blades. This is the full size (4 1/8" closed) version. Unused and unsharpened. Beautiful covers. An extremely nice example of this classic pattern. I assume this was some kind of limited edition because “193" is engraved on the clip blade.
Includes box & paperwork. $50.00 $45.00 $42.00 $38.00
