International Sales Policies:
I like the international character of BF and so I’m usually willing to jump through the extra hoops to do international sales. Unfortunately, I’m a little more pressed for time this year due to some medical issues at my house, so I’m going to have to make it U.S.A. only for this sale.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now without further ado, let’s get on to the fifth batch of knives!
Thanks for helping the pups!
Andrew
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My friend Phil (Phaint on BF) lives in Pennsylvania, and his wife and he own two beautiful rescue dogs. Phil has once again donated to my sale, and the next three nice knives are from him. Many thanks, Phil!
1) Queen Serpentine Jack in golden jigged bone. I confess I don’t know if Queen called this a serpentine jack, but since I don’t know the actual name, that’s what I’m calling it! 3 ½" closed. I’m guessing carbon steel based on a few small spots and age—Phil thinks this one dates from the 50s or 60s. There’s a wee bit of side-to-side play in the blades, although I hadn’t noticed it till I looked for it just now. Lined bolsters with a small dimple on the end. The bone is very attractive.
The keystone shield is more typical of a S&M, but here it is on a Queen.
No box. $50.00 SOLD
2) Queen “Queen City” Ltd. Ed. Two Blade Stockman in green jigged bone. I didn’t have to guess on this one because I found one just like it on the web (but in Buffalo Horn and priced at $149.95! Google: “Queen Cutlery Co. Queen City Two Blade Stockman Genuine Buffalo Horn Limited Edition 9590"). This is a big knife at 4 3/8" closed. 1095 carbon steel per the web description. “1 of 200" stamped on the spey and “Queen City” on the clip. Nice even factory edges, with a small nick (which should sharpen right out) on the main clip about 2 mm from tip. Nice swedges on the main, lined and fluted bolsters, and single spring. Pulls are strong, with the main a little stronger than the spey, but manageable.
No box. $65.00 SOLD
3) Boker Tree Brand Barlow in faux tortoise shell. Solingen, Germany. 3 3/8" closed. Carbon steel blades. Engraved steel bolsters. Looks like it’s seen some use, with patina on blades, but in good shape. Handsome covers. Slimmer and lighter than most barlows—a very comfortable and pocketable size.
No box. $35.00 SOLD
