AFCK vs Axis - which one do you prefer?

Excellent responses. So far, I think the AFCK gets the nod. One thing that could be improved on this great knife - a bit of handle flex.

AFCK for me. It is now the only knife I carry, with the exception of my Ti Crawford KFF.

I don't have a problem with a liner lock. I have never had an AFCK close while I was using it. I agree with akula57 on the handle flex. I think thinner washers would help. I wouldn't mind seeing a titanium handle like on the Crawford KFF. The AFCK has been around for awhile. It might be time to give it a once over. Keep the blade design and handle shape. Very few things go through their life span without some type of improvement.

AFCK "Mini" 812 does it for me.Blade shape, spyderco hole,g10 scales....size efficient.
(I've scratched the surface of the blade anyone know how to get it out??)
Hair-popping sharp...after few strokes of my lansky.

My choice may change after I get my first Sebenza...

I would have assumed that I would have liked the Axis better than the AFCK , but for what ever reason when ever I grab a knife for my jeans it is usually the AFCK. I like the handle feel a bit better than the Axis, and I have a lot of faith in the lock on the AFCK even though it is not as good as the Axis.

Like Dirk I have a KFF (micarta). I carry the fancy KFF (stainless damascus) as a misleading "dress-up piece" and the AFCK when the KFF is too heavy for my pocket.

I like them both for different reasons. I prefer the stud over the hole, and I like the Axis lock better than the liner lock because of its inherent strength. However,I like the shape of the AFCK and the relationship of the blade to the handle, i.e., the forward rake.

See a similar thread on the Benchmade forum. Fewer responses, but it appears most wnat an ambidexterous AFCK.

An ambidextrous AFCK is truly the way to go, IMHO. And it'd be so easy... Just a set of holes on the opposite side, and the clip could be moved at will. This simple modification would benefit not only southpaws, but also those who carry a folder as a back-up to another tool, accessible to their other hand - and then, there are those (like myself) who carry two knives...
All in all, seems like a worthy idea.

I don't own an Axis but I do an AFCK, but wish I didn't. Of the Benchmades I have the AFCK was not up to their usual standard.
I love the blade shape and overall design. I hate the: linerlock which does not inspire confidence; the edge profile loses keeness fast; the hinge screw slakens all too often: the scales have just fallen off and the micro screws will not tighten to fix them back on.
I know other people love this kife and mine is probably a duff one. This knife has been bought in bulk, I just hope Benchmade does not get complacent and end up like Blackjack.
