AFCKs

I don't mean it as a slight towards you Steve, I just never understood the whole "I found something I never used" thing, or people who "Forgot what they ordered on amazon until the package arrived" it's just weird to me.

Nice to find some knives in any case though.

I will keep them and probably never use them, like most of my knives. I finally took out my Dragonfly 2 zdp-189 and use it as an edc along with an Opinel 6. I am thinking of using my Mini-Griptillian CPM 20cv as an edc.

I never forgot them. I just have a a tendency not to use a lot of nice things that I have. I know I should. I am 67 years old and hate to think that I'll die before I use some of those.

Steve

I know what I have. I just want to keep everything pristine. Which is really rather stupid.

I don't think it's stupid, in a way I understand it, you work for your money, you buy things you like with your money then on one hand you want to enjoy what you bought, on the other hand knowing you put in effort to afford it you don't wanna ruin it. I am not that different, I like to use my knives but I am conscious how I use them. Always been that way, I recall treating my toys with care as well, I was always the kid to get most stuff as they last kid due to budgetary reasons, so I treated my toys nice while a good friend and his little brother got everything and broke their stuff within days of getting it cause they could always get it new.
Definitely a difference between forgetting that you have something/ordered something and knowing you have it and wanting to keep it nice and pristine.

My mom died about three years ago. I am in the process of clearing out her house to put it on the market. I stored all my knives in a box in her house. Almost all the knives have never been used.

No it isn't.

Telling other people what they should do with their knives is, however, and you certainly have not done that.

If you enjoy just having a collection of never-been-used, still-in-the-box, pristine knives....more power to you! If you are enjoying them is all that matters. Don't let anyone here tell you otherwise.

Thanks,

Steve

No problem.

But it does kinda sound like you are trying to sell them all-sneaky like. Just being honest with you.

If you are, we know, you're not fooling anybody, and, at your membership level, you can't.

If you aren't, then like I said, enjoy! Congrats on the find, hope you find more, sorry to hear about your mother.

I am not looking to sell. Sorry if I gave that impression. I am like Scrooge McDuck looking in his money bin. I became a gold member because I enjoy the forum and want to support it and the members are nice folks.

Steve

We are all cranky and jaded. :D Pleasure to have you with us.

We do demand pictures of what is in the money bin.

Thanks. I'm an old guy who has to learn to post photos. I know it's not hard, I just have to convince my brain of that.

I EDC'd my 800 for 20 yrs. I finally retired it after 2 tip snaps shortened it up to the point I was carrying a bigger handle that was warranted for the blade that was left. I loved everything about that knife and have carried quite a few similar knives while looking for a suitable replacement (Spiderco Stretch, PM2, Byrd Carra Carra, Ontario Rat, etc.) but none quite measured up to the AFCK for me. If yours is a plan edge and you ever decide to sell it???, please PM me.

I know what you mean. I’ve really babied my 806 over the years.

In all seriousness, you should consider using that afck. It is one on the best thought out and ergonomic knives I’ve ever held. Rides surprisingly easily in the pocket too.

Think I even like it better with the tip reprofile I had to do after I stupidly pried a bullet out of a tree.
