Affordable Zombie/Dry Wall Killer?

First Post :)

I have modified my Ontario SP-8 edge to Convex ( Zombievex ) so it destroys something to nothing :)

BTW: Thanks for all your work in the Threads all the years, now I am going international.

I have destroyed drywall, tiles, flooring, wood, plaster and concrete with it. You can hammer on this knife with a steel hammer, pry tiles from the wall - It just takes it...
I have worn out two of them in like one and a half year - but with a price of roughly 25€ (in Germany) you won't get a better deal..

I think we have a winner. I need this sexy thing.
Wait wait…

You got everyone worked up about “wrong tool for the job” and then you go ahead and cave with the right tool?? Sad. ;)

Anyway, for people that ACTUALLY want to have fun demolishing with a knife, let me present the Rinaldi Lucca Billhook:

Available at Baryonyx Knives for under $60. With .22” silicon manganese spring steel at 58hrc, will eat drywall for a snack. 🍔

If it makes you feel better, the Fiskars is not available so I'm still on the hunt. Plus, I scored a used fireman's axe which makes the Fiskars obsolete (ish). That Baryonyx goes on the list for sure.

(Also I did not know it was the right tool for the job. I am deeply ashamed and will go back to finding the wrong one.)

If I had to demo something, this is exactly what I would get.
Yeah being practical, I think this is probably a tool I need to acquire. I can think of a lot of things it will be useful for. And it looks like lots of fun. Plus I used to study stick fighting so I think it would be fun to swing that thing around like a jo. Maybe get stupid next fall when everyone gives me extra squash from their gardens.

I am going to be doing some demo work on a house - tearing down some rotted wood and lots of dry wall. I thought it would be useful, or at least a ton of fun, to have a big burly knife to do some of the work. I'd be cutting into dry wall, prying it free, prying off wainscoating, prying out outlets, maybe chopping some copper wires and whatever else is in the ducts. Basically doing everything you shouldn't ever do with a knife, with this knife. I'm even open to other edge tools, like if you know of a particular zombie killer that would work here. In fact, even better if it's one of those things that makes you wish for a zombie apocalypse just so you could use it.

I'm looking to spend <=$150. Ideally under $100 but $150 is okay so long as it also makes the job go faster. I know something like the Winkler Crusher would (ahem) crush it. But it's just too pricey for me. I was also considering the Ontario Air Force knife or the Ka-Bar (the classic fighting knife) as possibilities that are more in my budget. I've never used either of them, but I'm sure a lot of people have. And I'm sure people here have handled lots of other knives that might fit the bill. I don't really care what it looks like - bowie, "bushcraft," military/tactical, whatever. I care that it will hold up to the pressure, not break apart, be comfortable to wield, and be fun. I don't mind if I have to stop to sharpen 2-5 times/day.

Can you recommend something that would do this job and won't break the bank?

If you post a photo, I'd love it if you'd say what the knife is.

(Please note that unlike a prior thread of mine, where I had specific requirements I was trying to fill, this time the question is wide open. Just maybe don't suggest a victorinox slip joint.)
If ya wanna have fun just go to town with a baseball bat! As mentioned though, be careful around bathrooms etc.

However, clean up may not be as fun.

If ya wanna do it quick and efficiently all you need is a hammer and flat bar. And make sure to pull all trim first. I can pull full sheets and have little to no clean up with a hammer, flat bar and what I call the construction wobble. I enjoy trying to get full sheets. I’ve done a whole hell of a lot of demo in the past near 30 yrs in construction. Cleaning up tiny pcs of anything sucks. Especially a lot if it.

Piss poor demo is still a pet peeve of mine, waste of time n money.

But if it’s a knife you want a use well then the obvious answer is a Sebenza of course! 😂
