I have 4 premium big blocks and two oversized sets of African Blackwood available. This stuff is getting harder to find, especially in larger sizes, solid pieces and reasonable prices.
African Blackwood is an excellent handle material. It is hard, heave, dense, oily and VERY stable. It is the KING of woods for carving, texturing and checkering. Also looks super classy plain black.
These are very high quality, nice big blocks. Solid with no visible defects at all. They have very uniform tight, straight grain but they will finish pretty jet black. This is the good stuff.
Pics show one side.....the backs are the same straight, tight grain as the fronts and will finish the same as the fronts.
