So I recently started getting into making handles for knives and found a bulk order of great quality African Blackwood for sale at a decent price and went for it. It's more than I need, so that's where you come in!
They are sized at 1 3/4" X 5/8" x 5 1/8" with a few measuring 1 7/8" x 3/4" x 5 1/4". They could be used as unmatched scales, or smaller blocks. I was able to successfully rip a couple blocks into 1/4" bookmatched scales rather easily.
The blocks/scales have light tooling marks on one side from the table saw and a little wax on them, but they clean up very easily and very nicely and I think the price is right. The wood is in excellent condition and has been dried for six years. It's really, really beautiful wood so if none sell, it won't be all bad.
I accept PayPal G&S (I pay the fees) and ship everything either First Class or Priority (depending on the speed) through the USPS and provide tracking.
SOLD!
Before cleaning up (white stuff is wax).
Before cleaning up (light tooling marks on one side, cleans up in seconds)
After wiping down with a shop towel.
And after spending about ten seconds on the belt sander with 80 grit. The wood is REALLY pretty!
I'm pulling out some for myself, but I have a bit more than I can use, lol
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
