I have some African Blackwood that I am thinking about utilizing on a Chefs knife. I am assuming that with its density, and oil content, no stabilization will be required, even if it were possible to get anything to penetrate. I am new at knife making and would appreciate any feedback regarding African Blackwood.
Thanks, Jonathan

Excellent on kitchen knives just as it is. Sand with sharp belts and buff gently. Just like ebony, heat is the enemy. Pairs well with lighter tone woods like walnut, holly, and olive.

I love blackwood. It has a subtile beauty and is just beautifill.
Sand to 2500 and you'll be amazed how beautifull wood can be.

I love the look of blackwood. I pair it with canvas micarta liners and pins and it really pops.
