After Sale Lounge

Am I correct that if I asked for a DEK in my post, and they were gone before they got to me, that I miss out on anything else?

If I'm going for a hotly coveted model in a Fri. Sale that's a 99.99% lock to sell out before I post-- but I'd also be happy with another model-- then I always state that in my "in/I'll take a <insert model name here" post.

For instance, my post might look like..."I'll take a DEK1 please, thank you...but I'll take a Chopper for backup."

Jo has always gotten back to me if I scored either of my requests.

I don't expect an answer back if I strike out.

But you've got to give Jo and Nathan some kind of signal of your intent-- they're good @ CPK, but they're not mind readers. Good luck!
 
Oh that's interesting to know. I thought that everyone would be contacted that placed.
I was caught out by this sale. I thought there were 20 DEKs available until I saw someone else's post in here and then checked the sales thread.
I wonder if all these less frequent sales will still be of 10 DEKs? I'd rather have then even more spaced out and 20.
 
Hmmmm.... this was my first sale with multiple models of knives. And I looked to see if there were different rules for this sale and found none. I originally entered with "in" and then just placed my preference later.

You're welcome. :) I don't know if what I posted up could be called a "rule--" official or otherwise...just file it under "Has worked for me."

Also, don't overlook the power of good ol' direct emailing, either. I've dealt with quite a few makers and I'm here to tell ya, none of them were more responsive and nice than Ms. Jo tha Machinist :thumbsup:
 
Gentlemen, can I ask what the timeframe between getting an order placed and receiving the invoice from Carothers?

This was my first purchase and I was worried that I might miss it and have been checking my spam Mailbox. I am perfectly content to wait “two weeks” or a very long/indefinite time as with any other semi custom but would appreciate a ballpark from past experience.

Completely my fault. I was checking inventory and got side tracked. I am sorry. PM and invoice sent. thank you!
 
Anyone new to CPK or the sales I understand being anxious to know and receive superb cutlery. I think with the shop move and the K18s fighting Nathan's attempted to force the unicorn dust down it's throat, not to mention our world has gone a bit off the rails ... I think the crew has to be running on empty some days. But anyone who has dealt with them will tell you that you are in the best hands possible ... Jo is bar none the best at customer service and trying to get everyone what they want.

And Sadie (who is an integral part of the process ... at least Nathan thinks so) and keeps the rest of the crew on point.

We ... (meaning "me" I can't speak for the rest of these outcasts, pirates, and miscreants) ... do appreciate everything the whole crew does!

I’m looking forward to the potential for larger or longer sales. This crapple appears to be incapable of a top 10 finish. Probably for the best this week anyway though, as we’re in the underwriting stage of buying a new house and I’m not exactly sure what they consider a “large purchase.”
