Aftermarket Clips - Are they really made by the people selling them?

This might be old news or something everyone knows but it seems like most of the aftermarket clip makers all have very very similar designs. Do each of the companies actually make their own clips or are they just buying them in bulk from China and selling them as their own clips? I know there are probably a few that actually make their own but the vast majority just seem to be mass produced.

I’m not saying there is anything wrong with these clips. I seem to have a couple and they are just fine and all high quality. Just curious if it makes more sense to just buy them at the cheapest price if most are all just mass produced? I don’t want to pay a premium to someone who claims to make their own clipswhen in fact, they just buy them wholesale and sell them.

*** I’m not mentioning any brands and my intent is not to call our certain clip sellers. ***

My only experience was on Ebay with a guy who made them. They were titanium.

I'd be willing to bet it's a combination of both in most cases. It's the maker/sellers original design and they've outsourced the manufacturing to a third party. Probably done in limited runs.
