This looks like a budget knife that is fit for hard EDC.
I have researched a bunch and cannot find a good video or diagram that explains this lock type. One of the few I have never used.
And if you have one of these and used it hard please tell me what you think.
Thank you!
Matt

I used to own a Kabar Dozier Thorn that used the "tab lock". In that model, there is no stop-pin, instead there is a liner-lock with a "tab" that extends to catch the back so the entire lock-face engages the tang from front to back. When you disengage the lock, at least on the model I had, you could rotate the blade further backward. Other than that, it functions like any other liner-lock. The beauty of the tab-lock is that it opens options for the maker not having to worry about placement of a stop-pin. It's perfect for light-weight slicers, etc. Is it as durable? *shrug* I have my doubts but never tested one to destruction. Here is a pic I grabbed off the net of a more heavy-duty model:

The Tab lock is a liner lock knife whose blade stop is also made from the liner. I had a frame lock version in the long long ago.

I had the DKTF1, it was a full Ti frame lock with the tab stop; one hell of a knife!

It was plenty strong for daily carry and normal chores and it was a solid on the day I sold it as the day that I got it.
