Have these knives been discontinued? If so is there any other knife that uses the same type of button lock sheath? Thanks

Unfortunately I believe that's correct. It's a little weird since they both have such a solid reputation, but I guess they weren't selling well enough. I really wanted to pick up the B&T but missed out.

They do still have the Hunter Scalpel model available in black and orange. Same sheath, 2.5" blade.

Yep. The deer hunter was discontinued a few years ago, while the bird and trout was around for a while longer, but is no longer available now.

Makes me sad. I wanted a deer hunter, but was waiting for the D2 version to come back in stock. Little did I know that they were out of production, and just selling until they were gone. I'd have bought the aus-8 version if I'd known. Oh well :/.

Yup. Just something to be aware of, though - the hunter's scalpel is a tiny knife.

I wanted to get the bird and trout, but I did manage to get the Deer Hunter in vg10 back then because I liked bigger blades before I appreciated smaller ones.
