SOLD $55-OBO shipped with a goatskin slip. Not looking for trades as I'm replenishing funds from recent purchases.
I have an AG Russell CM-5 whittler in great condition. I don't believe the blades have been sharpened and it's been used very minimally from what I can tell. Maybe a few letters or packages but certainly hasn't seen anything aggressive. There are some light pepper spots on the spine of the main slip and secondary pen. Spring strength is good, stronger than some of the recent GEC's I've had so I would guess the blades are all in the ballpark of 6.
Here's the info on the knife I received from the cutting edge:
" Your A.G. Russell knife is a CM-5 .44 magnum whittler, which was made in Germany in 1977. A.G. owned the little Hen & Rooster company in Germany at that time. He owned it from 1975-1980. During that time, he made a lot of knives under the A.G. Russell name and the Hen & Rooster name. They were very high quality for manufactured knives. 1200 CM-5 knives were made. There should be a serial number on your knife. The blade steel was just known as German steel. It was a high carbon stainless steel. The bolsters and liners are nickel silver and the handle scales are ebony wood. The bullet shield in the handle is also nickel silver. It’s a very nice design and knife."
I was collecting whittler and some of the CM-# AG knives for a while but changed interests. This is the last of my 3-bladed knives.
