I had AUS8 featherlite a few years ago and in a moment of weakness or stupidity I traded it off. The AUS8 held a good edge and sharpened very easily and it took a very keen edge and was about $15 less than the ATS34. Now that I think about it they were out of the ATS 34 but had the AUS8 in stock at A G. So, I ordered the one I could get right way Oh the curse of a knife nut. I do not believe you could go wrong with either steel. I ordered the ATS34 Featherlite when I realized how much I missed the Featherlite. I do use a knotted lanyard to help get the knife out of my pocket quicker and easily.
