I wouldn't take it apart. Soap, water, then towel and air dry...it will be fine. I hit mine with some canned air on the occasion, but the sheath keeps it very clean.

I've never cleaned a knife with soap and water before. Usually I disassemble it, wipe away the lint (sometimes get grim off with rubbing alcohol), dry the parts then re-lube before re-assembling.

How exactly do you clean a folding knife with soap and water? Just wash it in the sink? Is it ok to use Dawn soap? How do you get it dry exactly? Doesn't water collect on the inside?

Just put some soap in the blade channel, and wash the parts you can get at...use water pressure from the faucet to clean the channel. Shake the water out of the innards with some vigor, towel off the externals, and put the blade at "half cock" (not closed, not open) and let it dry off in an arid environment. If you don't have arid, make it...use a hairdryer :D

Leave it soaking wet, and yes, it may corrode.

Unless you are a bonehead (which you are not, smart guys ask first, act later :)) you won't harm the knife.

Thanks for explaining this simple process. I sure do look like a botard but I'm glad you answered. :)

I guess we don't have too worry too much about corrosion since the handle is titanium, huh? :foot::p

What tasks have you used this knife for? Food prep, cardboard, garden work?

All of the above. My wife uses hers for cutting tomoato stalks in the garden. Mine gets a lot fo time as an EDC blade. We both take turns using hers as a small kitche knife; it will slice an apple very easily.
