Anyone have this knife? Was looking at one (satin/plain edge).......how does it stand up to the occasional prying job (site lists it as 1/8" thick)?

That is listed in its description as a job it can handle. It's not really thick but it's short and wide. Probably will survive anything that anyone has any business trying to do with a knife.

is this movie even worth renting?
i've heard it totally sucked, but i'd like to hear your opinions.

I thought the plot sucked...but the action was great. I liked because it was especially violent...:D

You all cant be wrong, I still have to see the movie again to confirm. On the movie itself it could have been better, but I liked it nonetheless.

I thought that the movie was touching when team went back to hump it with the refugees. I also liked the subtle surprises of the possible mole amoung the refugees. (I don't want to give it away for those who have yet to see the movie.)

Even though I strive for non-violence I have entertained the odd fantasy of what I would do if I could get my hands on some of those wankers that commit acts of genicide in places like Bosnia, Rwanda and Siera Leone. This movie sets up that sort of scenario nicely and once again I felt my my basest instincts for hate and revenge being manipulated by hollywood - and loving it.

I also enjoyed the way that Monica Belluci, despite the heat, mud. blood and danger managed to keep her cleavage on display at all costs. The military stuff seemed authentic and not over-glorified. Although as usual with type of film the tight, hard, credible feel of the whole thing is lost in the last 10 minutes to serve the studios need to finish with a grand crescendo.

I thought I was the only one that noticed...lol

Sheesh:eek:

I thought he was sticking a blade in Demi Moore's character "GI Jane":barf:

Fun fantasy flick like SWAT is:)

In real life...were this EVER a mission of any consideration...they would have zipped in by helo, grabbed the gal, and blown that popstand.

End of mission.

I STILL think Willis was shanking GI Jane:p

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it:D

still waiting for it to hit the cinemas here on OZ :(
......hell....were still waiting for the Hunted at the cinemas! :(

Something that earned TOTS points with me was that for as plain as the plot was, it did manage to avoid two cliches that I was certain it was going to fall into:
1) In the middle of the flight from danger, our hero and remarkably cleavage-rich damsel decide to throw caution to the wind and set 10 minutes aside for a love scene.
2) The unhappy-with-the-situation second in command of the unit leading a "Crimson Tide" style coups against the commander.

I saw warning signs all the way through that these things were going to happen, and was prepared to throw insults at the screen when they appeared, and yet they never did! The XO might not have been happy, but didn't stop doing his job. And hey, I'd be all over Monica Bellucci as fast as anyone, but they kept it real: when rebel battalions are chasing you, and you're covered in two/three days of jungle scent, the love can wait. :)

I saw it last week JE, in WA.

Hey there may not have been a love scene T1, but Bruce did to get bury his face between those maternal mammaries in the closing scene.

Well, I think the closing scene qualifies as "waiting 'till later." ;)

It was good fantasy.

The most realistic aspect of the movie was the brutality of the region and its forces / politics.

Spot on, there.
