Is usa knifemaker the only supplier of aged ivory micarta now? Haven't bought any in a while and no one seems to have it now?

Atlas billiards supply has ivory paper micarta and something called "elforyn". Not sure how well it ages or if it's quite the same.

jantz has some as well. I tried ivorite and it looks well but chips easily.

Which "Ivorite"? The old resin based stuff that Westinghouse produced in colors that wasn't paper based (basically bakelite), wasn't chippy at all, I've got some blue stuff on a knife I've carried for years, that I've dropped 100 times. It dents and deflects much like paper micarta, and didn't chip out when sawing. Of course, we all know how brittle *some* bakelite and other vintage non-reinforced phenolics can be, but hell, so can the reinforced ones. I've seen tons of sub-premium grade paper and linen phenolics ("micrtas" from import or less quality sources) of various vintages (new or old) that chip out heavily also, especially when sawing, although the reinforced stuff tends to have smaller chips, and less likely to chipout when dropped.

Kentucky; if you're looking for the real vintage ivory paper micarta that's yellow on the outside and cream on the inside, there are no current sources that I'm aware of, except here or there where someone is selling a stash.
