AGR Rucarta Gunstock has landed

Great looking knife, looks really well put together & a real good review too.

Stu that's about the funniest thing I've seen this week. There's a slew of jokes to be made off of that. :)

Got some pictures focused on the blade to share today.

First is the finish on the kick. Seems like a mild mill scale finish and I like it.

The edge bevel is evenly ground on both sides. Also should mention that the knife came uniformly sharp from end to end.

Next is the swedge. It too is even on both sides and is one of the most striking visual features on the knife to me.

Next is the nail mark. Gives an idea how deep it goes into the blade and that, along with the shape, provides really good purchase for your thumb.

What about the junction between the blade tang and the lockbar? Very smooth and even. My fingernail barely catches on it.

Got some more pictures and comments to post later but right now it's dinner time. ;)

Nate, your pictures are great. They really show the details clearly.
This thread push me over the edge. Yesterday i ordered the newest one in this 'series', the 2010 Texas Ranger. It's a really big locking single blade Sunfish, nearly twice the mass(weight) of your Gunstock. It comes with a leather sheath so my pants won't be hanging low like our friend on the previous page.

I'm glad you guys like the pictures. If there is any shot/angle that anyone would like to see that isn't provided so far let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate.

The knife wasn't the same fit in my jeans pocket today as in the cargo pants yesterday. Not that it was uncomfortable but I definitely felt it more when walking around and it printed to a larger degree. So before I had to go out for some errands I decided to try a Gerber nylon sheath (their large multipurpose model). It was a very good fit.

When I'd been looking through the catalog before ordering the knife I also wondered what kind of fit it would be for A.G.'s leather sheath with the brass peg and strap closure since I think it's a great looking sheath. Didn't end up getting that sheath but today I had a palm-slap-on-the-forehead moment as I remembered I had a leather sheath that I don't use sitting around from my Victorinox Spirit and it was probably in the ballpark size-wise for the gunstock. I dug it out of my desk and found it to be a great fit. I slipped a piece of nylon webbing in there so the inside face of the sheath's metal fasteners wouldn't have a chance to scratch up the knife.

Here's a photo-chop of the knife in both sheaths.

Here's a few more angles of the knife highlighting how clean and flush everything is.

I guess the next thing will be some pictures and impressions from using the knife in the coming days/weeks. I'd opened a few envelopes with it so far but not much else since I wanted to get a good spread of pictures while it was still factory fresh.

Happy to report that the gunstock is a pleasure to use so far. Very comfortable in hand and the blade has been good for all kinds of cutting. I sliced some chicken with it, cut up some old blue jeans (that took some bite off the edge but it was solved with a quick touch up), and today I set it on one of the banes of modern day life - the blister pack.

The plastic on this one was not especially thick or tough but the gunstock made short work of it nonetheless.

And a few more pictures outside on a clear cool day.
