I love the smell of new Micarta. It reminds me of two of my favorite things; printed circuit boards and Laphroig scotch whisky. I took my new Junglas out into the woods (or what passes for them around here,) to try it out. I'm very pleased with this knife. It only took the Junglas a little less than ten minutes to chew through six inches of free-standing American hardwood, and I'm sure this time could be shortened considerably with improved technique. I may not be a master chopper, but the Junglas sure is! (the pictured tree was already dead. No live trees were harmed in the testing of this knife.)

It only took a few passes on a strop loaded with Hand American 1 micron diamond spry to bring the edge back to shaving sharpness. No damage to the edge or coating was observed. It's a beast of a knife; heavy, but well balanced. The sheath is a work of art as well. I'm happy as heck with my latest acquisition
