I just love my new Benchmade 710 D2. Since I´ve got it my urge to get new knives has vanished. This is such a nice knife. It´s big, strong, bad but very lightweighted. No problems to carry it in a jeans pocket. But I don´t use it as an EDC. People can´t handle that much of a blade, so I carry a smaller one att work (office). Ok, the D2 steel is hard to sharpen, but 15 minutes a day with the Sharpmaker, you´ll have it razor sharp within a week. I can´t wait untill this horrible winter is over so I can go hiking with this buddy. Right now there is just snow and ice everywhere and freezing cold.
The only knife I (really) need is a large Sebenza, but the pricetag for that one is outrageous. Just to expensive.
So, for all knife-newbes: get at 710 even if you think it´s expensive. In the long run you´l save a fortune not buying junk and semi.junk knives!
Cheers, and PIC OF MY 710 HERE!

Hang on tight - I can't tell you how many knives I bought that were going to end my insane knife buying!

Let's see - recently I swore I wouldn't buy any more knives after each of the following purchases:

Spydie Millie
BM 13100 Hardtail
ZT MUDD
ZT 0301
ZT 0200
Lg Sebenza

Now here I sit looking for an XM-18.

Good luck! Some days I think I need therapy.

Im looking to buy a 710 right now ;).... been wanting it for awhile and gana order it soon ;)

one of my favorites from the day introduced.a never sell or trade keeper.probably the knife i would take if i had to walk out the door for a long time.this one will do it all.

I cant wait till i get the money for this bad-ass of a knife! Who wouldnt want the knife that started the axis lock! I just need about 120 bucks >.< but it will be well worth it!

Yep, the 710 is an awesome knife. BM has a very fine satin finish which will help fight the rust. I sold mine, but I will be getting another.

The 710 is nice, but the 950 is awesome. Two M4 710 were sold off because they just sat in a drawer. For me the 950 design is a step above the 710.

Not trying to knock your knife but let you know about one you might like even better.

I disagree! The thin flat handle on the 710 is better for me. I find the thinner the handle width the better it carries. Also the D2 is better than 154CM IMO and I also prefer the the blade length and shape.

I have 2 710's a M2 black and a satin D2, the D2 is my EDC (most of the time). As for sharpening, diamonds are no match for the D2.

The large Sebenza isn't that expensive. It's easy to afford one. The next time you're looking at a quality production knife like a Spyderco Military or something, control your impulse and don't buy it. Do this 3 more times and you can get a Large Sebenza. You only have to do it 2 more times if you want to buy a used one on the exchange.

Looks really neat!! My second ever knife was a toss-up between the Spyderco Mili and BM 710. The Mili won, but the 710 has been haunting me ever since:)

Your pics don't help either:D

I got mine this weekend. It has been on my list. I love it. I do like the bigger patterns.

Millie is the next one. I have a Para military, but want one of those too, yes in D2....

I got my first 710 a couple years ago. It is still my favorite work knife. I got it reground by Krein this last summer to get rid of the regrind. It is a laser now:)

Oh, by the way, youll cave and get the sebenza soon enough. I guarentee it :). I was the exact same way as you and eventually I pulled the trigger

I sold the D-2 710 and bought a CM 154 710. The CM 154 resists rust much better than D-2. I also ground the recurve out of the blade. Much happier now.

This knife is definately at the top of my to get list. Tried out a 950, and while very nice, something about the handle bothered me, it just seemed to dig into my hands. Then the Millie bug bit, and I acquired a Millie and a Para Millie. All the while the 710 has been haunting me lol. Whenever I have cash there are none on the exchange, so I end up getting something else.

Now I have one on Order at my local dealer, just gonna pay for it $20 at a time till I can get it in a month or so lol. Woulda already, but family emergency ate up to much money for me to justify buying it in one big go.
