AIGH'T WHO's

It looks exactly like the late model I have....it's honestly got the best cross between comfort, thickness, and grip. I like that particular one! Do you have one like it? what do you think Dennis?

it is just like the first one I ever got a long time ago, so yes, I like it. I think I do prefer the diagonal groove handles though. Ahhh, I like them all.

I was wondering about the bead blasted spine on that one. Was that typical of a certain run or is that somehow special? btw, I won't chase it that high :D

I dunno how rare it is, but I've got one just like it....

not rare at all. Probably the most common of all SHBM's. I've seen more of those than any other.

The rarest handled of all are the last factory SHBM's with diamond groove micarta like the e-handles. There were very few of those. Not sure how many, but the estimate is about 25 or less. These surely had crinkle coatings as well.

Then the diagonal groove would be runner up rarity with about 50 or so made. equal numbers of coated and bead blasted with at least one LE thrown in:D

Not sure how many smooth handled there was, but I am sure it is very low but well over 200, but who really knows. Most of the LE's were smooth handled as were the first 100 (part of the first 300) and I know many of the regular run SHBM's had smooth handles also.

Not sure where the transition was between the smooth handles and the almost smooth, partially grooved handles, which I prefer, but it was early on.

Then you have thickness issues. The middle one pictured above was a confirmed 0.295 inch which is thicker than I have personally seen. My 1 of 6 was a hair under 0.25 and most I think were in the 0.255 to 0.265 range.
