Air compressor size?

I want to set up a belt cooling mister for my grinder and I know I'll need an air compressor to provide the spray. What size of compressor would I need to power a nice spray? Since I do a lot of my work outside, a portable model would be ideal.

Are you building the mister or buying one? If buying one, the specs should show the PSI and CFM and pressure needed. I think most use about 90PSI, and the air volume is low.

For compressors size - the biggest one your shop and wallet can handle is almost always the best to get. If you decide to use large air tools, or a blast cabinet later on, it will handle them. As far as working outside, air hoses go wherever you want the air, and store on reels when not in use.

If a portable is all you can do, get the most CFM at 90PSI that is available. A portable nail gun type compressor works well for many tasks.

Alright, thanks for the advice. So do you think something like this would work? I'm pretty sure it's powerful enough for the spraying but I wasn't sure if it'd be too much PSI. I don't think I'm going to worry about blasting for now since I don't have that much room for a large compressor. If I need to in the future, I may be able to find someone with a cabinet or something.

How do you know the consumption of the nozzle ?
