I'm interested in buying one of these here soon but I can't find any info about them on the net. I would like to have one that is semi portable. Just from inside the basement to my forging area outside. I've seen a few tutorials about making one but this seems like something that is a little above my skill level. Can you just buy one? If anyone has any info on these guys I'd appreciate the help.

You might find someone to build one for you, but I haven't heard of any currently.
Harbor freight has the jack on sale for $89.00 right now. You might grab one and then try and get help in building one.

Thanks guys. I'll study it over. Looking at a few more tutorials I think I can handle the build now that I understand the operation of the press a little. Looks like I'll have to wait till my shop is built first. Till then I'll have to keep using some good ole elbow grease.

If you have not already run across it , T A Tolyer (sp?)
has a nifty little YouTube Video about this mini-press. Ken Kelly
a BF member has a WIP of his build somewhere. I patterened mine
off these two presses

Yeah, I believe it's over on the Bladesmiths Forum. I've got some pics of a few if anyones interested. It's better for smaller billets, but it worked fine up here at our little hammer in.

Yeah I think I saw that tutorial for the mini press. That's what got me interested because it looked like I could move it around a little for the small amount of portability I need right now. I've seen the video, seemed like it worked pretty well. I only ever forge small billets anyway. This winter when things slow down I may try to take this build on. Oldwolf I'd like very much if you could post a few pics. It will for sure help me out. Thanks again guys.

Thanks SBuzek. That's the design I'm going to be basing mine on. When ever I complete it ill post pics but it will probably be this winter. I have a few more knives to make for folks and a patio for my wife to finish before winter so no time right now. I thought I might buy the pump now since its on sale and get me a good compressor, I've been needing one for a while anyway. I want to find a foot control for the air supply do any of you guys know what I need there? Hey thanks again for all the help.
