just wondering if any one else ever tried using air tool oil to quench?
i just quenched 3 blades tonight, and man i really liked it, all three appear to have hardened up very well.
i tried to get even a brand new flat file to bite, and it just skated down the edge, i had no warping, and basically everything went perfect, which supprises me, because usually when i try to something different then a way that normally works for me, things dont always go smooth.....ya know like if it aint broke dont fix it kind of attitude. but i guess  to trying new things this time.
only bad part was there was a little more flame than i get with my normal quench, but nothing to worry about.
if anyone has used this, would this give the similar effect of mineral oil, as ive never used that either.
thanks
andrew
