Air travel "survival" kit

I developed a "survival" kit to make air flights more comfortable. I used to fly commercial a lot aome flights were over 12 hours long. With the holiday season coming up I thought I would share.

No knives due to our terrorist "friends", but I carry a good, heavy, brass pen in my shirt pocket. It's my EDC at the office anyway, so it's not out of place when I travel. I do not have training on how to use it as a weapon, but I am sure if I were to wield it in a stabbing motion, it would cause harm. Not the best weapon, but better than nothing if we were to get hijacked and an opportunity presented itself. As an added plus, I always seem to need a pen when I fly anyway, so it serves a real purpose.

As far as the kits are concerned, I have a small case I carry in my pocket to keep most of this stuff on my person. Most of the time the carry-on luggage is up in the luggage holds and my other carry-on bag is below the seat in front of me. The pocket kit contains things I want to have with me so that I do not need to get any of the other two carry-on bags out of storage.

Pocket Kit:

-ear plugs (great to keep the noise to a dull roar, especially if there are screaming babies on the flight)

-Eye shades (this keeps out the lights from the in-flight movies and your neighbors can have their reading lights on without bothering you)

-blow-up neck pillow (helps to keep me from getting a crick in my neck when I am sleeping)

-aspirin, antacids, Pepto-Bismol tablets, etc. (travel food can be pretty rough on the system after awhile)

-Purell or other hand sanitizer

Kit for under the seat:

-Magazine or book to read.

-snack food (try to avoid eating airport and airline food; I bring my own like Power Bars)

-fleece sweater or jacket

-iPod

-flashlight

Carry on bag: In addition to the regular things I put in the carry on bag (like my shaving kit), I put in things that can help me survive a day or two if my checked luggage gets lost or if I am forced to sleep in an airport due to weather problems or other delays.

-Extra set of socks, underwear, and a clean shirt (in case my regular luggage gets lost)

-ball cap (in case I am sleeping in an airport somewhere I can look at least half way groomed when I wake up)

-a small towel and wash cloth (in case I am going to be using my shaving kit at the airport for an overnight delay)

-clock

-more food

-more magazines or books

-batteries

I am sure there are other things I will remember later and will add to this list, but this is it for now.

Suggestions?
