Airboat Camping

In my past I did alot of very remote fly in drop off Camping from all over Canada and Alaska to Africa and out west. Like I said it was fly in drop off to a base camp and then horseback out to a spike camp regardless it was very remote no traffic or trails and more importantly no people.

Well when my kids started showing interest in camping I was very excited but can't deal with crowded trails and the like. So then it dawned on me I can run my airboat up the Delaware or Susquehanna River find one of the many islands set my two Dogo's loose and have my own private Idaho so to speak. Private swimming and fishing and more importantly feel like I am remote and be a half hour from home. 15 minute drive 15 minute boat run.

I called up a buddy that that lives on the river who runs a Snake River style jet boat and he said he new a great Island and his family would join us.

You need a jet or air boat to access alot of these parts of the river. Kayacs and canoes will also work but the point again is you think you are in the middle of no where and again no people.

I am just excited to share something I love with my 3 daughters and I am thrilled they are digging it.

Some pics

Here we are showing up thats my buddy's jet in the background

Looks like an absolutely great time.

Cool boat and location.

Wonderful family, dogs included. :)

Thank you for taking the time to share.

Looks like a great place to be. Sometimes seclusion is closer than we think. Five years ago anytime I'd go camping it was a 6 hr drive away. I still do that once and awhile, but I also find that there are places that are small but underused right under your nose. You just have to get over the 'its not a big far away adventure' attitude and enjoy nature even if its only 200 acres of fun....

Great trip dude. Cool boat. You got a good looking family going on. Those two pups look like they would take care of them very well. What make is that Kukri?

A ll kidding aside you can never be to careful

when I have my family with me I take things very seriously. that is one of the reasons i sleep in a Hammock tent outside my family's tent I hear everything betweeen the two dogs the .357 and the 12 gauge plus the Khuk I am not playing around anyone comes around looking for trouble well lets just say they are going to get it:)

Great photos, JParanee. Looks like a great time, too. Family, friends and your dogs all enjoying some good times away from the hustle and bustle. How did your khuk do for you on this trip? Any chopping or fish related chores it was involved in? Thanks for sharing.

The Khukri performed very well. Did all the fire wood cutting with it and my buddy was impressed with how quick you could reduce a long pretty thick log to fire size chunks and even split some decent size logs with it.. No hand rubbing issues and all in all a great camp tool

Of all things I am more interested in the dogs. I was going to ask if they are Dogos. I have solid white American Bulldogs and everybody asks if they are "Pits".

But back to the topic I am jealous of your trip looks like an excellent family outing.
