Airkat Apache is for commoners:D
This is the Sur Vital # 008, only 20 knives where made. That knife is designed by Joel Pirela and made by Dwaine Carrillo.

Should I enter it in the next Chop test?:D

Cheers,

André

Hi Andre, I just wanted to say I used to own that #8 Sur-Vital. I sure miss it bro. Wish I never let it get away. If you ever want to sell it, please give me first chance to get it back. Take care, Michael U.S.A.:p

I wish that we had a "green with envy"smiley.I love the design of those blades and hope(fingers crossed) to get a tripwire someday.Awsome blades.

Wow, that's the ugliest knive I've seen in a while, seriously.
Don't bother with the chop test, a 10$ axe will beat the bugger.

How exactly is it ugly? A 10$ axe may chop better but lets see you try and slice up food with an axe......

Ugly.....well dunno where to start. I find every aspect of this knife ugly, and I'm not taking the mickey.
Only a Klingon would love to spread his butter with that thing.

The sheet is also remarkably cluttered with all that rope and stuff sticking out.
Seems like a great sheet to get stuck on a fence with, or on a passing lorry....

Will you use this thing, or did you purchase it for its sheer beauty?

For slicing food I prefer a Global G-2.

MIES, please don't be a PAB. If you want to insult people's items that they chose to share, it only comes across as a troll wanting his flame.:thumbdn:

  Damn i can't believe what i just read, the knife is a survival tool and out of respect for others, did you really think that this quote was nessasary, not only have you STOMPED the owner of the knife but also the maker, show a bit of respect for both, enough said.As for the knife, very impressive piece,I'd be proud to call it mine;)

Jealousy is the downfall of all men,I'd take this over the $10.00 axe,at least i'd know it would stand up if my life depended on it

Ya know, I usually don't get involved in shit like this.....but when it comes to downing one of my bro's and a good customer, what the hell hey !!! .... I learned a long time ago not to take comments personally or get emmotionally involved in such....( After all it's just a knife :) )I've learned from many Old Timers that you "can make some folks happy all the time and you can make everyone happy some of the time, but you can't make everyone happy all the time " .....But for someone to blatantley come out and say shit like that pertaining to anyones knives or any knifemaker shows a definete "Character Flaw"....We should always respect makers, collectors, enthusiast, etc...If your just on here to cause trouble and be an asshole, then perhaps you should go elsewhere ? Everyone on this and other Forums are Knife enthusiast and are proud to exibit the knives they buy and collect from the makers they like and that should not be scrutinized by "TROLLS" or other envious but jealous )*(&^%&^$%$###&^%##%$%$#@%$#@....lol....damn that was a long word....hahahaaaaaaa....Try to be polite and respect others bro :) .... It's just as easy to be "NICE" as it is to be an "ASSHOLE"....Try it sometime, it takes exactly the same amount of effort :)

Thank You to all of you who buy my knives and to all of you who don't.....that's what makes the industry so good.....If everyone drove Chevrolets, then there wouldn't be any Fords or Dodges !!!

Take care all : Dwaine

Going against the trend here a little, A bloke posts some pics of his knives ( very good quality pics btw. ) for the public to enjoy and make comment on. One individual made comment that he thought the knife, ( beauty is in the eye of the beholder ) was ugly and the sheath looked cluttered and could get caught up on things. Isn't this what public forums are all about, allowing people to view their individual opinions.

If this was the "for sale" forum, his less than complimentary comment would be out of order, and the original poster might also have to buy a gold membership. However, as this is the "General discussion" forum, surely people have the right to pass comment.

Personally, I think the Airkats are visually unique and interesting and I would be interested to know how they perform in the field.

This knife is a collectable knife, it displays Dwaine's workmanship in the field of grinding and drilling. The only reason that would not use this knife is that there was only made 20 and it has become highly collectable.
The knife is however very nice to handle. The handle configuration is the best "No guard" handle I have ever seen. Like all of Dwaine's knives it is WICKED sharp. YOU do not like it and that is OK with me, maybe if you have handled it you would be impressed with it. If you ever made a knife yourself you would know how high a skill level it requires to make such a knife, and the hours that went into it. Finally a tactical knife that stands out from the crowd.
Dwaine's knives have a "look" to them and you always recognize his work when you see one.

Stockman

I would be interested to know how they perform in the field.

The Vulcan is a very good user, the handle gives you a good control over the blade when cutting and stabbing. And the sheath is perfect dirt and mud can escape the sheath due to the spacer configuration.

Cheers,

André
