Ak-47..

makes em look even dumber-who cares-can they do that though? isn't it registered to the rifle???

^ AAAAAWWWE....you used the jerk-it smile.

Doesn't Mikhail Kalashnikov have the trademark on that? That's like CS getting the trademark on Colt 45, M16, etc.

Mikhail Kalashnikov is a commie. They are not allowed TM's.

Rampant greedy stupidity is why our economy is about to make like the Titanic.

ROTFL! Dude, you seem so desperate I'm wondering if either

A) you have a severe Zombie problem locally

or

B) there should be a 10-day sword waiting list in your country.

;)

Have you considered a Waki??? It's SR101 and a bit shorter, but a Busse-built sword just the same. Plenty of them out there right now.

I am so glad I don't make my living in the knife or gun industry. The back-stabbing and thievery are ridiculous! Guess we will have to call it the American Kensei!!!

No, No, Jerry can still make and call them AK's.

They are a prior use of that name. If you can prove you were using the name before some one trade marked it, then you can still continue to use it. IIRC. Now, if Jerry made a folder and called it that, there would be problems.

There are tons of people out there making knives, some of them are probably called AK's too.

I think Lynn Thompson should face off with Mikhail Kalashnikov, each with their own AK-47. :p

He's a Russian. He can trademark anything he wants. His record considered, the Russian government would be delighted to back him up.

Yeah, he is quite skilled at ripping off German designs ;) :D He should team up with Lynn, maybe they could have a good thing going.

do you have an ak-47 avaiable every single one is sold i am really desperste to fincd one it seems impossible i have cash right now vpetrusich@yahoo.com please let me know prefer g-10 handle don't care what color

Read his handful of other posts. Either he really has the scratch to buy up ALL the Ak-47s on the board, or he's up to something. I smell something suspicious.

I have nothing against Cold Steel's products, they are very nice for the price you pay. This however....is ridiculousness.

Honestly, any company using the "AK-47" name for any products is simply unoriginal and is clearly trying to appeal to certain demographic. (the kind of demographic that would buy busse swords or cold steel folders) Companies should, at the very least, think of something original.

I mean, come on, I KNOW busse has more bad pun names for knives and im SURE cold steel has more uber tacticool names. have some originality. seriously

All in all, countless companies in the gun and knife industry and beyond have used the name "AK-47" , but copyrighting it? ......low

You been living in a cave for the past couple of decades? :p Just kidding bro.

Kalashnikov is/was pretty pissed about his rifle being the most copied battle rifle of all time and not seeing any royalties.

Kudos to Busse for having fun with a classic name of a well respected weapon. Shame on Cold Steel for saying they have rights to something that was never theirs.

Copyrighting the name is definitely not right, but i don't see why people are criticizing cold steel for using it and praising busse for using. Clearly there is a quality difference in their products, but they both have just as much right (or lack thereof) to use the name.
