Hey- did anyone notice my take off of Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airman in the post?

I would have, but I was lost in the ozone again...

I'm going outside to see if it's a full moon tonight!!!

Eight and a half hours and counting down til the Post Office opens.

Hey Me! Me! Me! was it "down to sticks and seeds again too" ?

Been there, done that.

Steve

As I remember, you didn't have any use for your 20" AK as it was too close in weight to your 18", right?

So this is good for both people, except of course it does nothing to aleviate the pain and suffering of billions across the Globe.

Of course it does! First, there was our mutual investment in the USPS, a quasi-private organization that uses portions of its regular income to fund discounted rates offered to charitable institutions.

Second, there was the money we didn't spend frivously on yet another knife. This frees up some of our chickenscratch to go into the often hated free market. The horror of the free market is that its successful participants are those who are always striving to meet their customers' desire for high-enough quality goods and services at constantly lower prices. With supply and demand and inflation being what they are, this may not often be apparent, but, in a free or reasonably free market, this is the standard operation.

With SethMurdoc and myself giddy in our knife trades, we're now free to purchase other goods for our familial and personal desires and, in doing so, allow the producers and distributers of said goods fund their searches to provide those items (or the needs they meet) at even lower prices. This allows the less fortunate to afford items which once were a luxury of the extremely wealthy (such as antiseptic or fresh fruit during Winter) and allows charities to serve the even more unfortunate.

Munk, if the those who alleviate the suffering of the world are truly your heroes, then you should be thanking every successful investor you know.

I serve you a softball and that's the best you can do?? BAh Humbug!

I could have sworn someone would at least say something like:

"Munk, ending the suffering of the world begins first at home, in ourselves, and then to our neighbors, one baby step at a time."

(but I thought that wasn't good enough)

Munk?

The Tibetan sword got here!

It's length matches the first one, the blade is a quarter-inch longer, and the handle a quarter-inch shorter. And the black scabbard is the same red leather as my first one, just dyed black. And Bura did an even better job with the new one. I'll rub it in more tomorrow.

Now go outside and howl at the moon out of frustration! Hee hee ;) .

Actually, I have personal developments that make the sword relatively bareable.

I do want one though. But I want a Bowie more- and if I could get the Kamis to make just one with a straight edge- flat profile so I could use it like a cleaver I'd be in Hog Heaven. I never asked for anything from HI except friendship- do you think there's any way such a bowie cleaver could happen?

I know about the "seeds and stems" comment. :)

Uh...in my wayward youth, that is. :D
My experiences went way beyond my wayward youth I'm afraid. I didn't start tokin until I was 35 but until then I had more than my share of the legal drug, alcohol. :p
That's why I say 'till this day that if it was legal I wouldn't be in so much pain. I was old enough to make a judgement as to what the skunky, piney, scented good stuff would/will do.
I still wish it would be legalized like the Governor of New Mexico wants.
Do you suppose Bill could use some good weed?
I bet it would damn sure improve his appetite!!!!:D :p ;)

Why humbug? It's better to focus on how your actions actually do alleviate the suffering in the world than to whine about it and actually create more suffering. I can do, but some @$$piper or aardvark will just shoot it down (search the thread where folks said they were glad Bill Gates lost over Dan to be moderator of this forum).

No. I will say this though:

Every day, sometimes two or three times, I pray that your back will heal. Though it will probably increase your mobility to travel far and wide and spread your revelry in human agony, I still want your back to feel better.

I don't pray for the health of the bug that's flown up your butt.

Thombrogan , I was kidding. What are you talking about, and why are you attacking?

If you can't enjoy interactive humor I won't engage you in any. There is nothing in my posts to warrant this reaction.

"" can do, but some @$$piper or aardvark will just shoot it down (search the thread where folks said they were glad Bill Gates lost over Dan to be moderator of this forum"" >>>>>>> Thombrogan

What is this? It sounds as if past experience in the forum has left you with some issues that need to be addressed. Are you addressing them to me now for some reason?

I'd be happy to discuss that- whatever it is. Do you feel people aren't taking you seriously?

I agree with you on a point you raised, and that is, never let anyone stop you from speaking of truthful and serious issues. I like that, and so do your friends in HI Forum.

You say you are praying for my back and I thank you. Would you believe it is getting better? So much so that I'm ready to climb on the Mt bike again.

I woke this AM and was glad God's grace was here. It if were not, if there was not love and help bigger than ourselves, our world would be useless.

Hey Munk,

Guess I couldn't take a joke yesterday unless it was remedially obvious.

Had to apologize to you via email this morning because, at work, I have Netscape 4.79 for Unix/Solaris and it doesn't pick up the box where you write replies on this forum (it does on forums with less up-to-date forum software).

My bad.

Thombrogan,

I'm just glad to see someone slightly off center, off cue. I stumble around so much it gets lonely on the road. Speak your mind with me anytime.

Where was this thread going anyway? Oh- down to seeds and stems, again, too.

We were done, I thought. SethMurdoc got his Benchmade and I got my AK. He's probably got an odd callous from flicking the knife open and closed and I've got an occasional happy-knot between my shoulder blades.

And you and some other folks might need to contact your special friends to alleviate the seeds and stems condition.

A sad ending, Thom, him with a callous. I'm glad you got your AK. And as for special friends, of the kind you were referring to, I haven't had nor wanted any of those for over 20 years.
