so i have an AK coming my way(no sheath included). can you guys recommend a one-stop shop that can make a sheath and convex the edge to a razor for me? i saw on Dan Kosters website that he used to do handle mods, but discontinued that service :(

+1 for Terry Sisco. That man does amazing work. Lots of experience and incredible customer service. I found him through HI, when I first found The Cantina.

Me, three. Any of the following woods wood look nice on a khuk handle:

Ironwood
Mesquite
Olivewood
Osage orange

I wish that i had some to mail off to the kamis!

if you guys point me to some one who can do it, well see what ironwood looks like

Here's a neat image that I found, of some ready-to-use ironwood blocks. It seems to give a good overview of the several "looks" that ironwood can have. there's lots of images of ironwood-handled knives, all over the 'Net.

I learned a great fondness for this stuff, almost 20 years ago when seeing Native American carvings made with it. Be warned, though: it's heavy, to the point where it actually won't float!
