so i have an AK coming my way(no sheath included). can you guys recommend a one-stop shop that can make a sheath and convex the edge to a razor for me? i saw on Dan Kosters website that he used to do handle mods, but discontinued that service

This guy ought to be able to make you a sheath and do handle mod's, maybe even sharpen it too.

Me, three. Any of the following woods wood look nice on a khuk handle:

Ironwood
Mesquite
Olivewood
Osage orange

I wish that i had some to mail off to the kamis!

Here's a neat image that I found, of some ready-to-use ironwood blocks. It seems to give a good overview of the several "looks" that ironwood can have. there's lots of images of ironwood-handled knives, all over the 'Net.

I learned a great fondness for this stuff, almost 20 years ago when seeing Native American carvings made with it.:thumbup: Be warned, though: it's heavy, to the point where it actually won't float!
