Received a Pen-Knife by Bura and a 12" AK villager by Sher today.
I would prefer the Pen-Knife for kitchen duty because on a flat surface(due to the relaxed angle) the cutting edge is "longer" while the chopping ability is about the same. On the lighter Sher AK the handle is a bit too short but the ricasso is long enough to choke up and place the thumb on the spine, the blade is not in a perfect line with the grip but the point shows a bit to the left when you look over the peened tang and the bolster - I hit my target everytime where I wanted to hit it nevertheless so this is not important.
I like the steel furniture, the convex edge and the solid feel of this little AK but I will work a bit on the knife. The sharp point of the buttcap will have to go as will the chape. I will flatten the scabbard by taking out the loops for karda and chakma and make it a light rucksack-camping all purpose knife as I will give away the heavier but in my eyes more useful Pen-Knife to a friend who ordered a khuk for the kitchen. Both are winners, especially at a price of 105 US$ for both (I had to add 20 $ shipping and 13,75% customs duties) it was a bargain. AK is a good way to go, Pen-knife seems better if weight is not an issue, cannot say anything about the 12" sirupati as I do not own one.
