Congrats Armyof1... I remember you posting about it in the sword forum. They are wonderful blades. And from the abuse I've seen Mr Brown deal out to them... they are built to take it. Beautiful example you have there. Name it... and use the crap out of it. I've got another on the way... I think I'm going to name them after Japanese Dieties. Perhaps Ida-Ten and Emma-Hoo.

Mine came today, so I thought I'd post a pic with my German short hair to match your pic with your German wire hair. Luckily, my AK doesn't have the gouges in the grind. Sweet!


Nice one man! I have always liked the German pointing breeds! The are hell of smart and easy to train, and there is nothing like bird hunting with a good gun dog. When they point at where the bird is in cover, flush it, and then retrieve it, it takes all the "hard work", out of upland game hunting. Now if I could just train him to gut and skin my birds I would be set!! Maybe that’s asking too much? I am taken Pete to a hunt club with some buddies this weekend to put some shots over his head and get him used to hunting with other dogs and gunfire. One of my buddies will be bringing his shorthair and the other has a Lab. Those shorthair have great noses! I am not stressing those grind marks much I think I will try and clean em up with some WD-40 tonight as yoda4561 suggested? I was a bit surprised to find an imperfection in such a high-end expensive piece though.

Thats funny Amy, When my wife saw the pics instead of sweet sword or something she said "ohh Petes so cute", must be a chick thing.

Steel-Junky yes I do need a name, I will have to think on that one.

Thanks Foo, the kids named him Stinky Pete after a Toy story bad guy....I thought it fit him well though as well!
