There have been a couple questions lately about the AK vs the Ruck, so I pulled mine out for some pics. The AK pictured is one with Al handles.

The thing that is really amazing is the difference between the handles

I've also thrown in a couple of my other favorite big knives and then the SJTac in there for a size comparison

Yes, that variant is a real beauty. I am happy to have that one.

Thanks for the kind words ;)

Yes, the Ruck is about the perfect size, I love the AK but the Ruck is much easier to handle

:D:D

The ruck slabs ARE way more thin than I thought they woule be.... Thanks for that pic!

Yeah, you ain't kidding. They are thin but amazingly comfortable. This handle works really well one handed

:D:D

Nice pics Eric.... thanks for sharing them (esp. the Ruck to AK comparison)! :D

Thanks Eric, more reason's to kick myself for not getting one. Whatcha doing in 2 weeks? INFI 1500 16/17/18 March if you're not busy. It'd be great to see you and your Variants again:)

Very nice pics Eric!! Sweet to see finally a comparison pic:thumbup:

The Ruck appears to be a thicker piece of INFI than the AK.

I didn't expect that.

That would be a good thing.

I think the Ruck would be the perfect as a house defence tool for those of us
who live in places where a gun is not allowed or are worried about overpenatration or the ever present zombie invasion threat.

Nice pics Eric.

I hope my Ruck arrives this weekend. I want to show it some lovin'! :D

Ed,
Thanks for the compliment, my pics don't come close to matching yours but I'll be happy to share the one's I have.

Two weeks....sounds interesting. But are you more interested in seeing me or my variant's ;)

JurT,
Thanks, I think the comparison pics are really needed on a forum like this where it is often hard to handle a piece before you have to decide to buy it or not. I try to take as many comparison pics as possible

Awesome pictures Eric! Makes me wish I would have picked up that AK!

Jason,
For my sake, I'm glad you didn't get this AK ;)

I actually didn't realize this until the I saw the pic I took, it actually may be deceiving. I'll check later and post back to let you know if it actually is thicker or if the pic is playing tricks on us

:D:D

Unsub,
You are right, it is the perfect size to keep handy for a little home defense. Much easier to handle with obstacles, furniture, zombies in the way ;)

Drew,
I hope you get yours soon, you'll love it. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts when it arrives

Chocula,
You'll love it when yours does arrive and it will make the wait worth it

:D:D

Ruck = Thicker spine and much thinner scales? wow

The handles on the Ruck are much thinner but the picture is deceiving about the thickness of the spine. I just double checked to make sure and they are very close in thickness. It is somewhat of an optical illusion in my pic, I think that the scales on the AK are throwing the pic off a little.

You can kind of see this by putting your pointer from your mouse on both of the spines and seeing how close they measure up (does this make sense) ;)

WTF No guns allowed? You're living in the wrong place brother!
