I finally had a reason to choose this.I had a dead Maple branch fall down.Chainsaw no; AK yes.It was hollow and one cut severed it enough to turn over. The whole job was done in less time than it would have taken me to dig out the chainsaw.I washed it in the sink and applied peanut oil.I still might want to eat with it.

My Mom and bro. are visiting. No noise, tree gone. They looked outside. It only took a few minutes.10" limb. What happened? And what is that on your pistol belt? That`s the biggest knife I ever saw. When you kneel, the brass tip hits the ground. No damage.I have enough neatsfoot oil on the loop to slide it forward and sit down.I would still prefer the BAS frog.Hint.As Bill will remember this blade did not go with this scabbard. As a result,it rattles around like a BB in a boxcar. The folks, knowing my penchant for silent thought that quite odd.

ghostsir.
My wifes 15"AK had the same problem.
I glued a couple of leather strips at he top inside and they helped, but made the knife very hard to get out.
I finally took them out the other day and dropped a thin shaving off some wood I had been whitleing on down the scabbard. Instant quiet. The blade likes about 3/32" of going down all the way,but is getting better all the time.
It now passes the jump test very well and is very fast to remove!!
