I love the look of the AK47's but am not to sure about the CBT. I am not a huge fan of these on the FBM. How deep are they compared to the FBM??

What is the overall Weight Of the AK47 (with micarta )??

Does the AK47 make a good slicer and will it cut easily on brush and lightere vegitation??

Thanks, Nick.

They weigh 30 ounces (IIRC) and they make an excellent tool for slicing through brush and light vegetation. ;)

The CBT is pretty shallow an you will have to look for them to actually see the CBT. The coating seems to cover it pretty well.

The bevels do not jump out at you like on the FBM or Razors, as they are really small and tend to blend right into the coating.. ;)

Here's a closeup shot of the bevels on my grey AK...

Thanks a lot guys. I tell you, this is getting harder and harder to resist. The Tan/Tan is calling my name..

Oz customs would have a field day with that one!

"It's a weed whacker!" ;)

Hey, I was in Brisbane and I own an AK. However, I wasn't bold enough to risk mine through customs, so it didn't accompany me.

I have the tan/tan as well. I oiled the micarta on mine, and I really like the two tone effect.

Still working on a guard for the front of the grip. May come up with a clamshell design to bolt on through the hole at the base of the choil. Might ruin the profile of the blade a little, but I would feel better to have just a little something there. It really does scream for a Tsubo of sorts, don't you think?

You won't notice the CBT at all, but you might want to smooth up the coating a little. On long slices it can grab a bit I've noticed.

anyone have a link to the AK that was worked to a teardrop, there is a video of it push cutting through a phone book?

Ruck 1lb 6.5 Oz 640g
AK 1lb 14.2 Oz 859g

They are great for light brush and vegitation get one ...or both!!
