AKI - What's happening?

So, Antonio Fogarizzu, Michael Walker, and Emmanuel Esposito just announced on IG they're leaving the AKI, and I'm just wondering what happened. I understand the AKI was sold, but I don't know what the underlying changes are that have prompted this decision...

I wondered the very same thing and this is the answer I received from who may be the most recognized and revered Knifemaker in The World.

"Thanks Dudley, yes we could not stay in good conscience once the voting process was corrupted. About a dozen top makers have resigned..."

Sorry, I’m not too familiar with the show but very interested in it and the work and art that is presented there. Voting for what exactly?
The only voting I know about with my 0 knowledge of the show is that collectors vote in which makers are a part of the show and can present their work?

I’m very curious about the show. It has been a goal of mine to exhibit there since I first started making

I was lucky to attend in 2011 and had the opportunity to meet Phil Lobred, who didn't know me at all, but who gave me the time of day which meant a lot to me, so far out of my element. He was obviously a special guy and set a very high bar
