Hey guys,
Just wondering how many people use the 1080+ from alpha knife supply. It seems to have some Chromium and Vanadium added in so I would expect that it would have a little better wear resistance than 1080? Would the hardening process be the same?

Thanks

I don't know myself but would be anxious to hear what everyone else has to say. I use alot of 1080.

I've never used it, but on the aks site you can click on any of the steels listed and it will give you H/T info. I too would like to hear some input on this steel.

I don't use their steel, but the added alloy ingredients are to make it a forging grade 1080. It reduces grain size , and deepens hardening enough to use oil instead of water quench.
