I'm in about the same quandry as the OP.
Been considering the SERE 2000 vs. an Emerson Super 7 or CQC-15 for months now.
I believe the SERE to be the better knife--barely. I only wish the SERE had at least a 3.8 - 4" blade. I may end up going with a used SERE Attack to get more blade.
I like the Emerson CQC-7 tanto blade but I want a bit more length and wish it were ground on both sides. Same with the Super 7, even though it's an acceptable length. The 7-V has the right grind but, again, I want a longer blade. The CQC-15 is ground on both sides but has modified the 7 blade a bit and I'm not a recurve fan.
I don't buy the poor fit/finish rumors on the Emersons. They're great knives. If I DO happen to get one I don't like I'll just exchange it until I get a perfect one.
So....I haven't purchased either but still drooling over both.
Let us know what you decide and how you like the new knife. It may aid in my decision making as well. It's a tough choice I know. We'll probably own BOTH some day anyway.....
EDIT:Oops, old thread. Guess the OP has his knife by now.
