Al Mar SERE 2000 VS Kershaw Blur S30V

wait, you can change out the handles for different colours? how? by the way, the green and blue ones look absolutely fantastic. were they limited editions? because i all can find are red and black and s30v.

yes, they're just handles. only the blade changes. But you could save yourself the time and hunt down one of these sweet, sweet CPM154 orange blurs:

You want a bargain, the Kershaw Lahar is on sale now for around 47.50 at least that's what this one cost me. It's a nice knife and discontinued. It doesn't flip anything like the IKBS Galyean Pro I have, but it was a lot cheaper too.

Buy more blurs with colored handles and the options are endless! :D

Great recommendation, Jill!

the orange one looks sweet. found one in stock on daves knife world. although they have an one in cpm154 but with od green handles. which one do you guys think looks better?

the orange handles are by far my favorite, followed by the standard old school red. But my favorite BLADE is the composite

Get both :D That's what I did.

I reprofiled and convexed my ZDP so that it is not a mirrored monster. Awesome steel!

Of course Americans support Kershaw since it's USA made! Sorry, i'm not really a fan of Kershaw because the design does not appeal to me. I bought the SERE 2000 because it looks pretty, yet it is a very very solid knife. The blade deployment is so smooth and fast it's almost like assisted. The downside is it's high price of course...

FYI, the Al Mar SERE isn't a "pinned" knife. It's put together with TORX like all the rest mentioned in this thread. My input is regarding the Blur. This is a fantastic EDC in a package that combines top-shelf build quality, materials, and the best warranty in the business. The SERE is a relatively big knife, on par with the ZT series. The Blur despite being smaller is a very robust knife and the aluminum frame is rigid and tough. It will get dings, but that adds character. Good luck in your decision. I too agree that the SERE is overpriced for g10 & vg10. You can get a Kershaw Lahar with the same materials for $60.
