Al Mar SERE Operator - Info needed

Hi guys.

I was hoping some of you had some experience with the Al Mar SERE Operator or had some knowledge of its history.

I have found it in a4 inch and 5 inch fixed version (that is the one I am interested in), but I have also found it in both VG10 and S30v steels. In addition, I have found the S30v version with a plain back and a saw back?

Is the VG10 version the latest version?

How does this knife perform in the field?

How are Al Mar knives in general?

Nothing wrong with the knife except the price is a bit high. If you visit the makers section of the forums you can get a better knife for that kind of money even though the romanticism of the SERE OPERATOR may be missing.
