I am selling an Al Mar SERE VIII-3008 fixed blade. This knife was won at auction during PEP 2014. I am selling it only to recover exactly what I have into it to pay for some unexpected auto expenses came up. It is said that this is the largest, and most desirable blade ever produced by Al Mar.

Price $600 $480 $395 shipped anywhere in the CONUS. Paypal preferred.
The knife comes with box, care paper dated 1982, leather scabbard, and ...some string for some reason. From what know this was produced in the 1980-1990 period while Al Mar was still alive. It is the most beautiful blade I've ever laid hands on.

If you were there then you know the story of the knife. Kept in a safe and never used, however after I won it, it was dropped out of the box from knee height. The person that dropped it graciously offered to purchase it on the spot, stand up dude. However I declined his offer for another arrangement. If you want to know more PM me. Images of the small marks from the drop below. A small roll mark on the tip of the edge (an experienced person could get rid of this) and a chip on the back of the handle.

Blade Length and OAL?

Any idea on the steel --- I know some of the old Al Mar's are VG-10, some in VG-1, some in s30V

I was really in the market for one of the old SERE models a while back. I'd have made an offer immediately on this 9 months ago.
