Al Mar: Special Forces Fighter or SOG: Bowie S1?

Oh, thats a tough one.
Personally I have always loved the Al mar Sere knives.
I think their fit and finish are second to none and quite consistent across models.
I like the SOG but would expect better quality from the Al Mar.
Especially if you just intend to love it.
I would never be able to use one of these knives for anything but high quality mail. No junk mail.

If you intend to use it the needle swings a little toward the SOG not because of quality but because it seems such a shame to use a classic Al Mar.
Many people feel the same way about the SOG
 
Does SOG have anything similar to a "custom shop"?

I really like the S1 Bowie, but I would like it even better if I could get one with a brass guard and butt, as on the Recon Bowie. Any chance one could be ordered like this?

How about get one of each, disassemble, and reassemble the parts as I want them? Would anyone be interested in a Recon Bowie with blackout metal parts?

I like the Trident too, but want the high carbon steel blade in the Bowie...
