Here's the LAST one.

Note: My spine condition (stemming from a broken back several years ago) has declined so much over the last 6 months that this may well be one of the last knives that I post or make for that matter, for a long, long time. It is one that I made for a special order customer and ended up having to remake due to two tiny surface cracks that developed in the ivory. I’ve stabilized the cracks with Zap-a-Gap and as you'll see, you have to look for them. However, the deal was for a knife with perfect ivory and that knife went for $950 so you can see why the little cracks would matter to that collector. I've reduced the price accordingly for this piece and as many other makers may attest - with the present day cost of the Damascus and ivory, I just want to cover my costs.

If you've ever wanted one of my knives, now is the time to get one. I have another Parley in Ironwood listed today - but like I said,
these will be the last two until something changes with my back and it's not looking too good right now.

Here is one of my "Parley" models in some beautiful pre-ban elephant ivory. The steel is from my friend Al May of Oklahoma in his “Wormwood” pattern. The blade has a hardness of 57/58RC, heat treated in house and triple tempered. It has a nice distal taper up front and a tapered tang for great balance. The handle is contoured for control and comfort.

There are 8, 1/8" stainless steel pins (hand sanded to a satin finish) and Acraglass epoxy holding the handle in place. She is file worked from tip to tip with my very own “Twisted Ribbon” design. Also note: the scales have never seen a buffer. They were hand sanded to 2000 grit and hand buffed with Renaissance Wax. And remember, pre-ban ivory is 100% legal to own - you just cannot take it beyond the borders of the U.S.

The tiny cracks can be seen in the following three photos but you have to look closely.

As you can see here, the cracks do not go all the way through to anywhere near the bottom of the scale.
The line on the bottom right is a natural surface line from being near the bark of the tusk.

A blade in Al May Damascus with this filework is worth the price by itself.

You did an outstanding job with a beautiful piece of AL May damascus. I'm glad you were able to bring that pattern out to its fullest. The whole knife is outstanding. Sometimes thing just work against us as in the ivory case.

Hey Wayne, great looking knife and sheath at a steal with those materials used.
So sorry to read that your back has deteriorated to this point. Hopefully you can get something done to ease your pain. Our family will keep you in our prayers, keep your chin above the waterline.

Thanks Joe. Not much they can do at this time according to my pain specialist. With three vertebrae fused and a enough titanium in there to make a decent folder, unless something new happens in spine medicine, I'm left with what I have now. Hey, at least I'm above ground and I can sit back on my heating pad and watch the beautiful pieces you're pumping out lately. Take care and God Bless.

As someone who's been suffering from severe back pain after a fall resulting in a broken vertebrae since Nov. I cant imagine how you've made the knives you've made. I hope things can be more comfortable for you my friend.

Wayne,
To bad to hear you are not doing fine, hope you get better soon.

David - It's so good to hear from you my friend. Thank you for the well wishes. Take care and may God Bless.

akthor - I know that there are many of us out there. That's why I named my EDC after my imaginary club "The Twisted Cripples". You're now officially inducted. Take care and may God Bless.

hangman - Very kind words my friend. I wish you the best as well with your pain issues. Take care and God Bless.

Thank you Roswald! I've been slapping myself silly so I did not hit the BUY IT NOW key all week.

Now, I'll be beating myself up that I did not!

And personally, I think the ivory should have some cracks so it does not look fake. You've got the real deal and a looker.

Its a fantastic knive!!

tonimang- Thank you my friend.

tekapo - Thanks a bunch for the kind words...I think.;) I've heard quite a bit said about my work but never thought it would lead to self battery.:) Re: the cracks....ugh...you and I think alike. There are too many good "fakes" out there and many folks don't know how or are unwilling to do the hot pin test that I think too many get away with it. These little cracks are certainly not a detriment to this piece but like I said earlier, if someone is paying for "perfect" it just has to be. I think Rich will be very pleased. Take care guys.

Great comments by all. Looking forward to adding this to my collection. A stunning beauty and a great deal to boot.
Thanks Wayne.

I just picked this one up on a trade, opening the package mere minutes ago... and I really like it! It feels amazing in hand.
I wish it wasn't so "pretty," it would make a great user, feels very comfortable, great balance with a nicely contoured ivory handle.

Hope your back is holding up, ironic how this one ended up in my hands.
I had back surgery almost two years ago for my herniated/degenerative discs: L4-5 and L5-S1... Still suffer moderate/severe pain on a regular basis.

I didn't break it, just years of extreme sports/accidents and poor genetics taking it's toll, and I'm only 30!
Trying to stay positive... buying great knives always cheers me up.

Thanks for making my day with this one!

WTF!

That's my knife! You're too young for a cracked up knife.

Let me know if you ever decide to trade it off. Nice score. Even if I am a jealous old fart.
