Just finished forging this. :)

This one's definitely going in the collection.

I seem to have difficulty making smaller knives.
 
Believe it or not that shape is very similar to a Civil War D Guard bowie that was issued to the Prattville (Alabama) Infantry company as they were outfitted to fight the War of Northern Aggression. A friend has one that was passed down to him from a family friend.

I did not know that... Learn something new every day. :)

And yeah, it is a fast design; cut a piece of spring into a spear shape, hammer edge. ;) Though, I don't know if they had leaf springs back then. :jerkit:
 
Frikkin thing's gotta be 3 inches wide!!!!! WOW, what a neat shape, cannot wait to see it progress!
 
What ever name you choose to give this beast when you finish, it should include "axe".

Such as the Bowie Axe.
