Some of you bushcraft guys will like this. This is a listing for a bag of 5 chunks of dried chaga fungus harvested from living birch trees in Alaska. It works great as tinder to catch a spark when starting a fire using flint and steel. These are decent size chunks but sizes do vary. They can be broken or cut into smaller pieces or into thin wafers. You can make tea with it as well and I have separate prices for that posted down below. I recently caught a spark and let the piece smolder for about 15 minutes before attempting to make a fire with it.

$17 shipped first class in USA. I can take ApplePay or PayPal.
$14 ea. for additional bags (helps to combine shipping).

Scroll down for prices and photos for chunks or ground chaga for tea.

I probably have 30 lots available at the moment and more drying. Flint and steel, knives, tins, etc. not included. This listing is for the chaga pieces only.

It's awesome stuff. Here's a video:

Chaga chunks for tea
These tend to be more dense than the ones I sell for fire tinder. You can brew tea in a crockpot or instapot keeping the temperature below 180˚ so that you don't destroy the beneficial compounds contained in the chaga.

8 oz - $30 shipped
1 lb - $49 shipped
2 lb - $90 shipped
3 lb - $127 shipped

Ground chaga for tea
Some folks prefer their chaga ground and I can provide that as well but it costs a bit more. It is really hard and will kill your coffee grinder or blender.
Chaga powder is the most rapid chaga tea solution. It can be added to a disposable tea bag and steeped for 5-10 minutes for a single cup of tea.

4 oz - $25 shipped
8 oz - $39 shipped
1 lb - $75 shipped

What is the approximate weight of one lot?
It varies a bit. I choose the inner pieces which are very light when dried. If you get some of the outer chaga it weighs quite a bit more. That’s why I don’t sell it by weight. I’d estimate around 3-4 ozs. though.

I could sell you half a pound and none of it would be great for catching a spark so it's not about the weight.

Very cool to see it used for tinder. I appreciate you sharing the video. I make tea from it and use the birch conchs for mosquito repellant in fires.

Nice! Do you use chunks to make tea or do you grind it? And how often do you drink it? Any noticeable benefits?

I have used small chunks for tea. I only started drinking it last summer when out at my cabin north of Willow. I don’t know if I noticed anything from it but the literature sure shows positive results from it.

I really like tea from devils club and primrose too. I am going to try out your technique for fire as soon as the snow melt allows.

That's awesome! I'd like to know about the tea from devil's club and primrose. To use the chaga as tinder catching a spark, you need to use some of the really lightweight pieces that are on the inside of the chaga.

I look forward to trying the tinder- thank you for the tip.

Devil’s Club tea is very relaxing. I like to cut green stems and then shave them into slender pieces which I steep in boiling water. I found that if I use too much, I will get a tingling/numbing sensation on my lips. We have so many plants on the property, I like to do something with them other than getting scratched! Lol. I love the smell of the cut leaves and plants. Although I do not know how to make it, the salve/balm made from it that I have purchased is pretty awesome for cracked skin.

Primrose (rosehips) petals are nice to snack on while doing chores at the property or to seep in hot water for tea.

Bump! Sold about 7 pounds this week and have a bunch more ready to go out!
Hit me up if interested. I can take PayPal or ApplePay.
