Alaskan Contact thread!!!

So people watching these threads and wanting to come to Alaska should check Alaska airlines web specials when a date is actually determined. You can come see this beautiful state for very affordable prices depending on timing. I have flown to both coasts for a couple hundred bucks more than once. ;) just don't come here trying to hog all the knives for flipping!

I think we should have a rule that you can't see in the trunk unless you have a Busse with the coating knocked down and the original sharpening polished off!
 
As someone who's still looking to pick up his first Busse and being very selective about which one it's going to be, I'm gonna have to vote against your rule Tundratrader!! : ) Is there any word on actual dates yet of when this trunk show might actually occur?? Thanks fellas!
 
Rule does not apply to those without INFI!

Shows are a place for people to pick up blades at reasonable prices. You can find good deals in the exchange it is just tricky some times to find some stuff.

This has been said by others way before my time. For anyone new the first place to start IMHO is whatever the store has as the current offering. You can always sell it for what you have in to it If you don't like it.
 
I appreciate what you're saying, but I'm not after what they're selling right now as the current offering, so I'll wait and see what's in the trunk! : )

Maybe one of the other piglet's or HOG's here has one for you to check out.
If you live nearby I'd be happy to show you the few BUSSE knives I have.

Hey fellas! I live in Anchorage, and what I was really after was a satin SJTAC, preferably with canvas handles. I was emailing with a guy about a couple with black paper, but having never held one with paper I wasn't sure I'd like the handles, like they might be too smooth feeling for my taste. That being said, the Boss Jacks for sale right now aren't that much different size wise from an SJTAC, but the satin ones are LE and thinner. Don't get me wrong, I really like them and who knows I may end up getting one. I really appreciate the offers of letting me check out what you guys have, I'd love to see an SJTAC and a Boss Jack side by side. I've been into custom folders and such for a long time but am now ready to venture into Busse territory : ) By the way, can you guys tell me why Busse fans are called piglets and HOG's?? : )
 
No SJTAC or BOSS JACK here but I do have a BOSS STREET LE which has black paper handle slabs and the handle is the same as the BOSS JACK (I think).
I also have a ASH-1 which is in the same blade length catagory.
I live in Anchorage so hit me up if you would like to handle any.

deadwolf, I have a bunch of Blk Paper you could handle and see how the various designs feel. I don't have any of the Satin SJTAC but I do have CGSJTACs. There are quit a few different blades made on the TAC hilt design and I like them all. Don't rule out a Tank Buster either. I am gone for a week as of tomorrow morning but will be home Wednesday the 13th. I come into Anchroage once in a while and could bring some in for you to see as well.

Just checking in to see if there are any HOG's or Piglet's that want to have a get together/statagy meeting before the Busse gang arrives.
 
I'll be TDY to Elmendorf (Anchorage) 4-29 Aug. I'm up for about anything in the local area, probably won't be able go on any trips/charters. But would be happy to make any get togethers.
