Albers Cutlery Company

Took about 10 days to get from New Jersey to Boson, but it was well worth the wait. Love the streak of blonde on the pile side. I feel so fortunate to have received one of these exceedingly special pieces of cutlery.

Has anyone else noticed the one minor cosmetic flaw that all of these knives have? I’ll give you a hint... it is on the mark side.

If you are referring to the shield pin it was done on purpose, and I love it. Gives great character!

Are you talking about the shield being slightly off-center? Maybe it's to give more clearance to the spring at the center pin.
Yes, the shields sit to the left of center. I don’t think there is a technical reason for a shield to be off center. I think it is just a minor flaw. Perhaps as new versions of the Albers Cut. Co. knives come out with centered shields, we will be able to look at our knives and easily identify them as the first generation.

It looks to be just left of center on every one — even on the ones listed on his product page. A consistently completed error seems more like a purposeful action.

Eric, how about chiming in.

Well guys it's like this : When I initially set up the cutter I lined it up between the butt pin and the bolster pin, forgetting that the bolster pin was slightly off center. What a dummy, right? I actually hadn't noticed it with the first batch but I did see it with the second. It should be centered with the next batch. I have to do these corrections in the computer since I cut it out with the CNC cutter, so I'm doing it in baby steps. Should have everything straightened out by the time I retire :D:D

Regardless.............I hadn't noticed...........I'm lucky if I have matching socks..........You build an awesome quality knife

I agree with Paul. I noticed the ever so slightly off-centre Shield - but Dang it the Knife is so so gorgeous it went straight out my Head - and if it’s a first release thing - I think it’s a cool quirk and I simply LOVE my Knife Eric and Paul. thank you both so much.

Don’t know if I’ll ever manage to snag one of these, so don’t know if my opinion matters much, but at this point I’d just leave it as-is for every batch. And the same for any new patterns you might make. Let it be a signature or quirk of your brand.
