++ to the "there's waaay more going on here than is being said" comments.
My (least) favourite line from the quoted article:
"A home invasion took a deadly twist yesterday..."
Think about it. What are they saying here?
Sure, it's unfortunate that someone died, but home invasion is a serious, malicious, sociopathic act. You don't break into someone's house while they're at home unless you mean business and are prepared to deal with the consequences.
To say that a successful defense of the house is a "deadly twist" implies that for the owner and his girlfriend to be tied up and tortured would be the "normal" outcome. That makes me sick.
Everything about the way this story is reported makes me sick.
