Yep, another Aldo thread. :D
I ordered some CPM154 yesterday, not early morning, 1:55pm. I'm in the same time zone as Aldo, for the record. I figured, ok, it'll show up Saturday or Monday, he's close and I know he ships pretty quickly. Boy was I wrong. I got here by noon today, not even 24 hours from order to doorbell. That's just too awesome.

You should see the interstellar device he uses to get stuff to me in Hawaii before I even order it!

Yeah, I at least had to click a couple times and pay, but I'm not sure my bank had fully processed the payment before the stuff was here. He was fast on my last order, but not this fast. I think that one was about 28 hours or so.

Sometimes steel shows up here that I didn't even order :)
Or sometimes, Aldo calls you to tell you that you need steel you never knew you needed but didn't need to order it because he knew you'd agree and shipped it anyway as an early Christmas gift for next year.

LOL. I did say he was a magician, right? I guess we need to add Clairvoyant too. :)

...or, "Because it's for the kids, I'll cut it up so it fits in a flat rate box to save on shipping to Hawaii, no extra charge."

(I teach high school metalsmithing)

Let's face it, excellent customer service is so rare it might as well be magic.

Aldo is the greatest, and hey what knifemaker is ever gonna complain about getting steel.
CW

Not only is he a magician and a clairvoyant... but a mad chemist as well.

The bar (ho ho) for cutlery steel providers has been set ridiculously high. It's been said before... someday Aldo will retire, and we can only pray that before then, he's been cloned or at has least trained a small army of folks to carry on his work. :)

When Aldo calls you and tries to talk you out of ordering a certain not-meant-for-knives steel for a special project, because it's craaazy difficult to grind... listen to him. When he begrudgingly agrees to try to get you some, even though it's also stupidly hard to find, and you can hear in his voice that he's actually getting excited by the challenge of it... man, that's a fun conversation!

The whole field of handmade knifemakers owes Aldo a nice dinner. Seriously, the guy works hard for us and he kicks much behind.

P.S. Rick's Aldonium pic is AWESOMENESS! :D

Hey Rick do you happen to have the certs on that Aldonium? I'm thinking all that mustache hair gives it a pretty good boost in carbon content.:D

Rick, you never had it so good.

Please guy's. No diner! I've gained 20 lbs. sitting at this desk. I actually contemplated taking a walk this morning. Then the phone rang. :)

PS - Darrin, That chunk of L-6 is coming your way. Make sure it don't land on your foot! Call me when you get it and I'll come down so you can cry on my shoulder. :)

Would you PLEASE do a giveaway to compensate us for all the buisness we have sent your way?? Also, where did the 1084 go?

You're kidding, right? Aldo has given away lots of steel, often without being asked. Sometimes for group builds, too, like a current one where the knives made from it will be going (free) to young servicemembers heading overseas.

Aldo... OK, OK, no dinner. I have a six-pack of SlimFast with your name on it, instead :D
